Every year I stick to the same tradition regarding these buns. They are baked by the skilled @bagerisonja out at Lindabacka Bruk but I claim mine from the fantastic cheese shop @orebroost. Having them practically as my neighbor certainly beats a car ride.
As for the cost this semla sits comfortably right in the middle of the price range.
The flavor profile here is exceptional with salt and cardamom cutting through the almond paste which also has a roasted look to it. I suspect there is whipped butter involved as well because it possesses that delicate richness that only real butter can bring to the table.
Just look at how smooth that cream is. This is the benchmark and exactly how I want it served every single time. Perfection.
