Best Semla – 2026 – Bullvivan – Semla Blandad & Klassisk Semla

Here is another test featuring two different semlor from @bullvivanorebro. One is a regular classic and the other is a mixed version where the almond paste is blended directly into the whipped cream. You can easily tell them apart since the mixed version does not feature the traditional triangular lid.

In terms of flavor this delivers the experience of a typical classic semla. The bun is definitely okay or perhaps even a bit more than okay. These are quite substantial pastries but what really stands out is the sheer volume of cream. There is a lot of it.

Personally I prefer a little less cream but it is always better to have too much rather than too little because you can simply scrape off the excess. The cream itself is classic and not whipped too hard. That being said if I were to choose I prefer my cream whipped a bit looser to achieve that perfectly smooth look and mouthfeel.

The mixed version was pretty nice, I prefer a classic one since you get different textures and flavors depending on where you bite. Regarding the price, it’s in the middle like the other ones on this years test. This is what I expect from a classic semla to be honest. It was good!
