The sun is making an appearance today on this Friday, making it a perfect time to test another favorite.
This is an original semla from @stadstradgardenorebro. I have had this one a couple of times before and I think it consistently holds a higher level than the other options here in Örebro.
What stands out the most is the almond paste which has a very distinct almond flavor. It almost tastes like candied almonds, but I seem to recall it having even more of that candied flavor last year. This time it felt more like a roasted almond taste. I do not know if they have changed the recipe or not.
The bun was good and a bit different, featuring a slight increase in moisture and creaminess, along with a nice touch of cardamom. The cream was almost on the verge of being whipped too hard to my liking, but it was still very mild and pleasant.
If you are going to eat semlor in Örebro, Stadsträdgården remains at the very top.
