We are rapidly nearing the end of the semla season here on Socials. I managed to get my hands on some semlor I have been really interested in trying, which means I have two posts left. This is the second to last one. After this review and most likely a final one on Saturday, I am entirely done with semlor for this year.
Today we are looking towards Nora, which is a drive of about thirty minutes from Örebro, to visit the fantastic @jennys_bageri.
In the first picture you can see their regular standard semla. It features a good fluffy bun, nice cream, and a very tasty almond paste. It also has almond bits on the cream which makes a lovely texture.

The second picture shows a cherry semla that she kindly put together on the spot upon my request. It has a delicious cherry cream with actual pieces of cherry mixed in. Underneath the vanilla cream there is even more cherry, providing a very rich cherry flavor. The symbiosis of it all is fantastic. I do not even like cherries that much normally, but as a pastry, this was actually the absolute best one of the bunch.

The third picture is a chocolate variant that was just an experiment if I understood it correctly. It is topped with lightly whipped cream and delivers a heavy dose of chocolate since the traditional almond paste was swapped out for a chocolate ganache.
It is always a sincere pleasure visiting this bakery because they offer such fantastic pastries overall. I spotted a Basque cheesecake while I was there, and their croissants looked absolutely amazing, which I already know for a fact that they are.
