Kafferäven Per Nordby – Subscription – El Avion

I really looked forward for this month’s subscription from @kafferaven since the moment I saw that they had Vara Blanca in their duo. However, today we’ll be looking at the Nicaraguan coffee El Avion!

I brewed this coffee with a lot of brewing methods and I really didn’t think I hit the spot at all for it. The siphon method was great as you see in the video, and as an espresso might’ve been the best way of extracting the most of it.

The quality is great, however it’s too soft for me and the reason might be it’s in the “comfort” category. When cupping the coffee I got a lot of nutty notes, especially almond and a bit of cashew. It has a bit of sweetness, I would’ve preferred higher sweetness, but it’s still a soft and good coffee.

As usual the coffee from these subscriptions from @kafferaven is making me so happy, it’s really nice to get a coffee that’s “seasonal”, and for me it has almost been a hit every time.
