The Coffeevine March 18 Box Preview

Now it’s finally time to write about the Coffeevine’s March 18 box, in this post I will write a few short posts about each coffee, where the coffee roaster is from, where the coffee comes from and my expectations about the coffee itself.

1) Doubleshot, Czech Republic.

Personal cupping and recipe available 2018-04-04

Origin: Rwanda
Variety:  Bourbon
Farm: Twongerekawa Coko
Region: Gakenke
Process: Washed
Altitude: 2 300 meters above sea level.

Cupping notes:
Raisin, orange & spices.

Expectation: Smells extremely good, just like 3) Ilomba. The description of the coffee tones is interesting, it’s unlike anything else I’ve seen in a long while! I also have to say that It’s always extra fun with extra coffee, as it contains 350g of coffee instead of the standard 250g.

2) Coffee Makers, Frankrike.
Personal cupping and recipe available 2018-04-05

Origin: Colombia
Variety: Castillo
Farm: Juan Pablo Villota
Region: Buenavista, Quindido
Process:  Washed
Altitude: 1 500 meters above sea level.

Cupping notes:
Generous body, cacao, vanilla & tropical fruits.

Expectation: I think that this may be really good. The coffee smells good, but not near the other two. The description is reminiscent of many other coffees from Colombia. A typical Colombian taste profile I suppose.

3) Wood Grouse, Tyskland.
Personal cupping and recipe available 2018-04-06

Origin: Tanzania
Variety: Bourbon
Farm: Ilomba Coffee Group
Region: Mbozi
Process: Washed
Altitude: 1 900 meters above sea level.

Cupping notes:
Sweet, camomille, lemon juice, green tea & cherries.

Expectation: Like coffee 1) Doubleshot, this smells extremely good. I don’t really know what to expect from this coffee. Of the pure experience, I think this will have a strong taste of green tea.

Conclusion:
As usual this will be very exciting to see which coffee roaster will win in this The Coffeevine’s March box 18.

I’m very happy to see three different countries again, especially coffee from Tanzania! I’ve only had great experiences of drinking coffee from Tanzania. It’s actually the same thing with Rwanda (click here if you want to see other reviews).

If I have to choose a winner for the March box now… Then I have to choose Doubleshot from the Czech Republic. Everything sounds amazing, it smells amazing and I find it all intriguing.
