Kaffebox – October 19 Box Preview: Pala Coffee Roastery

Now it’s finally time for the next KaffeBox. Let’s begin by going through the October 19 box!

This will be the 21st time for KaffeBoxyou can read the most previous post here.

The coffee comes from the Norwegian, Trondheim roastery Pala. In the coming days, we will review coffee from Ethiopian followed by a coffee from Guatemala.

This is the first time I’ll review Pala Coffee Roastery,

As usual, I’ll start with an informative text about the coffees:

Pala Coffee Roastery, Trondheim, Norway.

1)Kedamai
Personal cupping and recipe will be published 2019-11-11

Origin: Ethiopia
Variety: Heirloom
Producer: Kedamai Cooperative
Region: Jimma
Process: Washed
Altitude: 1 800 – 1 900 masl.

Cupping notes from the coffee roastery:
Juicy orange, red grapes, and blueberry.

Expectation:
Reading the description of this coffee makes me very intrigued. It sounds so good and I really look forward to trying this coffee. I feel somehow that this coffee surely will be a hit. I’ve never tried Pala Coffee Roastery so it will be interesting to see how they deliver. I’ve reviewed two other coffees from the region Jimma and they were both more than good. So this will be very interesting!

2) El Mirador
Personal cupping and recipe will be published 2019-11-14

Origin: Guatemala
Variety: Caturra, Paches, Catuai, Bourbon, San Ramon
Producer: Juan Gaspar
Region: Huehuetenango
Process: Washed
Altitude: 1700 masl.

Cupping notes from the coffee roastery:
Red apple, vanilla, warm spice, and smooth body.

Expectation:
I’m having difficulties finding that these notes can be found in this coffee. I’m not negative towards the cupping, I’m just writing from my own experiences. I do hope I’m wrong and I’ll actually find this amazingly warm and sweet taste profile. I’ll actually love that.

Conclusion: I’m very curious to try them both out. I think that both of them will be very good and I’ll probably like the Ethiopian one the most.

I like to try new coffee roasteries so trying Pala Coffee Roasters will be fun, they started 2017 and I actually don’t know if they’ve worked with it long or not. However, the bag design is really cool and I have a good feeling about this!

As usual, I always wish to give a respectful greeting to KaffeBox, which allows us to get together with coffee from all over Scandinavia so that we can see how we roast differently and at the same time give us the best coffee from there. As a Swede, I hope we support our wonderful neighbors and continue to subscribe.

I have great hopes for this September 19 Box!
