Kaffebox – September 19 Box Preview: Muttley & Jack’s

Now it’s finally time for the next KaffeBox. Let’s begin by going through the October 19 box!

This will be the 20th time for KaffeBoxyou can read the most previous post here.

The coffee comes from the Swedish, Stockholm roastery Muttley & Jack’s. In the coming days, we will review coffee from Rwanda followed by a coffee from Burundi.

This is the first time I’ll review Muttley & Jack’s Coffee Roasters

As usual, I’ll start with an informative text about the coffees:

Muttley & Jack’s Coffee Roasters, Stockholm, Sweden.

1) Nyakizu
Personal cupping and recipe will be published 2019-10-17

Origin: Rwanda
Variety: Bourbon
Producer: Niakizu Washing Station
Region: Nyaruguru, Southern Province
Process: Washed
Altitude: 2 100 masl.

Cupping notes from the coffee roastery:
Lime, Black tea & Brown sugar

Expectation:
If you read the notes from the coffee roastery you’ll almost immediately think about Earl Grey Tea. The original has bergamot instead of lime, but there’s alternatives with lime and that’s what I thought of. I’m gonna brew this light and crisp, it will be sweet yet acidic.

2) Kibingo
Personal cupping and recipe will be published 2019-10-22

Origin: Burundi
Variety: Bourbon
Producer: Kibingo Washing Station, Greenco
Region: Kinga, Kayanza
Process: Washed
Altitude: 1 900 masl.

Cupping notes from the coffee roastery:
Marmelade, Plum & Lemon

Expectation:
If you compare this to the first coffee, this gives you more of a jammy feel. If you’ve tried coffee from Guji, Ethiopia, you’ll know what I mean. I look forward to trying this!

Conclusion: It seems to me that these two bags of coffee will have the light notes you can find in a cup of tea. It can be zesty, floral & light.

It’s always interesting to try coffee from Sweden that’ve been picked up in KaffeBox, I’ve actually never tried them before (I know, shame on me), but I think it will be good. The design is also appealing to me. Now I’ll start with my cupping, you’ll hear from me soon!

As usual, I always wish to give a respectful greeting to KaffeBox, which allows us to get together with coffee from all over Scandinavia so that we can see how we roast differently and at the same time give us the best coffee from there. As a Swede, I hope we support our wonderful neighbors and continue to subscribe.

I have great hopes for this September 19 Box!
